Sydney, Australia – Nexon Asia Pacific (Nexon) is pleased to announce it has become first in ANZ certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 by Intertek SAI Global, demonstrating leadership in the responsible governance and management of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The certification reinforces Nexon’s commitment to ensuring AI innovation is supported by strong governance frameworks that build trust, accountability, and confidence in the use of emerging technologies.
ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the world’s first international management system standard specifically designed for Artificial Intelligence. The standard provides a structured framework to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve an AI Management System, supporting the ethical, secure, transparent, and responsible use of AI technologies.
As AI adoption accelerates, certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 provides organisations with confidence that AI systems are governed through appropriate risk management, accountability, compliance, and oversight mechanisms. Nexon’s certification reinforces its commitment to embedding responsible AI practices into its operations and service delivery.
As part of the certification, Nexon has also earned the right to use Intertek SAI Global’s 5 Ticks StandardsMark™, providing independent assurance that its AI governance practices meet internationally recognised standards.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the first ANZ organisation certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 by Intertek SAI Global,” said Saba Maroun, Chief Customer Services Officer at Nexon Asia Pacific.
“AI presents enormous opportunities alongside clear responsibilities. This certification reflects our commitment to strong governance, transparency, security, and ethical AI practices, and demonstrates that responsible AI is embedded into the way we operate.”
Dr Anand Shankaran, Vice President, Business Assurance APAC at Intertek SAI Global, said ISO/IEC 42001:2023 provides a critical framework for organisations implementing trustworthy AI systems.
“We congratulate Nexon on this significant achievement and their leadership in demonstrating a proactive commitment to trusted and ethical AI practices,” said Shankaran.
Elia Elturk, Management Systems Consultant at Requal Management Solutions, said the certification reflects a disciplined approach to AI governance.
“ISO/IEC 42001 establishes a clear benchmark for governing AI. Nexon’s certification demonstrates accountability, transparency, and effective risk management aligned to international standards,” said Elturk.
Certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 supports structured AI governance, identification and management of AI‑related risks, ethical and accountable AI practices, and continual improvement in AI management.
