Nexon Asia Pacific (Nexon) has become a supporting partner of Dementia Australia, backing services that support the 446,500 Australians living with dementia and the 1.7 million people involved in their care.

Dementia is the leading cause of death in Australia. Without intervention, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to grow to more than one million by 2065.

Nexon’s support helps Dementia Australia sustain and extend services for Australians impacted by dementia, including the National Dementia Helpline, family support, counselling, practical guides and digital resources.

The National Dementia Helpline is staffed by Dementia Australia’s own Helpline Advisors and offers free, confidential information and support to people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.

Corporate organisations play an important role in supporting the work of Dementia Australia which exists to support the 446,500 Australians living with dementia and the 1.7 million people involved in their care.

Nexon has supported Dementia Australia’s technology operations since 2020. The new supporting relationship extends into Dementia Australia’s purpose.

“Corporate supporters are essential to sustaining the services Australians living with dementia and their families rely on,” said Dementia Australia CEO Professor Tanya Buchanan.

“We’re proud to welcome Nexon as a corporate supporter – an organisation choosing to extend its commitment beyond service delivery to help us reach more Australians impacted by dementia.”

“As a people-led organisation, we care about our people and how they live, who they care for and the conversations that shape their wellbeing,” said Francesca Calandra, Chief People Officer at Nexon.

“Backing Dementia Australia’s work, including to help keep the National Dementia Helpline operational 24/7, is part of that. We hope our partnership encourages more organisations to bring awareness of dementia and brain health into their own workplace conversations.”

Kimberley Roberts, Executive Director, Awareness and Growth at Dementia Australia said the partnership reflects a growing appetite among organisations to back causes that matter to their workforce.

“This is what great relationships look like, and we’d love to welcome more organisations on board. If your business is looking to create real social impact through partnership, get in touch,” she said.
