Sydney, 11 September 2013 – Nexon, a leading Australian IT managed communications solutions provider for medium to large enterprises and public sector organisations, has launched Nexon Absolute, a cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) solution that allows business to experience the full features of Microsoft Lync 2013.

At the same time, the company has announced that Noosa Shire Council has selected Nexon Absolute for its hosted UC platform requirements following a comprehensive market review.

Rapidly deployed as a hosted access solution and cost effectively delivered as a service, on a pay-per-seat-per month basis, Nexon Absolute provides end-to-end collaboration on whatever device a user wants. Nexon Absolute also provides the option of replacing standard PBX systems while combining and integrating all communication capabilities, including voice mail, video, audio, web conferencing, instant messaging and desktop sharing, on a single, easy to use platform.

Once deployed, Nexon Absolute enables users to send instant messages, see where people are, and conduct voice and video conferencing from any location and all through a consistent, familiar interface. At the same time, Nexon Absolute enables organisations to scale up and down depending on the number of users and the style of services required to suit an organisation’s changing needs and budget.
“For many organisations, Unified Communications as a solution offering to businesses has over promised and under delivered. This has typically been due to the fact that, unlike many other IT projects, a successful Unified Communications project is complex and will engage every layer of a business, from its IT infrastructure through to its business culture, and everything in between. In our experience, the success or failure of Unified Communications deployments is based on addressing four critical challenges – the chosen technology, integration, project methodology and the customer’s user profile.”

Specifically, Nexon advises the following key pillars for the successful outcome of any UC project:

THE CHOSEN TECHNOLOGY – the technology needs to have the right level of integration into an existing IT environment and be easy to support and manage.

THE INTEGRATION – the solution must successfully integrate across different IT layers to ensure a successful outcome.

THE PROJECT METHODOLOGY – the rollout of the UC solution needs to address each specific business requirement with real, measurable return on investment.

THE CUSTOMER’S USER PROFILE – the UC solution will need to address all of the different employee profiles across a business.

“With Nexon Absolute we have developed a UC service that successfully addresses each one of these challenges,” says David Russell. Unified Communications Business Lead, Nexon.

Nexon Absolute can also be delivered over Nexon’s private network enabling the company to provide users with an enterprise-quality network service guarantee for all voice, video and file sharing sessions.

According to Frost & Sullivan’s Australian UC Services Market 2013 report, the UC services market in Australia is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.9 per cent from 2012 to 2019. The report found that managed services accounted for about
35 per cent of overall UC services revenues while voice-based and conferencing offerings accounted for the majority of UC revenues in 2012.

Stela Solar, Lync Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Australia, says, “The launch of this new offering by Nexon will help to support the Microsoft Lync market demand in Australia from telephony and audio, to video and collaboration. This is a testament to the skills and value which local Australian partners can bring to an organisation which is looking for richer, connected experiences.”

Nexon Absolute is supported by Nexon’s project management and end user training, migration and support strategies. As a result, the organisation offers businesses all the advantages of a true UC solution without the hassles of lengthy and expensive implementations.
